Sailing the Delta
What's new with Antioch Sailors

“Sailing two days in a row?” The wife had company and some serious shopping to do with the kids. So I’m on the delta another day. Beneteau was readying to go out, Mike and Fred were on their way (Pearson 30), and the wind was 5-8Kts? (I was hoping for a replay of Saturday). Oh well, maybe that’s a good thing because this time I brought the dog as crew. He doesn’t trim, he doesn’t steer, but he's good company. Being an optimist I rigged my 95% before going out (my only good sail) but changed to the big sail in the middle of Broad Slough. I made 4-5Kts all the way to the Pittsburg “NY” buoy to let the dog bark at the sea lions. I jibbed around the mark and sailed downwind toward home. On the way back, I saw my slip neighbors in their well kept Chrysler 26 (nice boat guys) and the guys Mike, Fred and Red enjoying the day. All-in-all another great sail day!
