(Larger Image) It rained on Saturday but Sunday the weather cleared leaving light winds in the morning building to white caps in the afternoon. My wife Brenda, Dr. Waffle (pictured) and I took the Ericson out and joined up with three other boats.  Red, Steve Plummer (both Catalina 30s), and the Beneteau 323 owned by Steve and Martha were waiting for us at the top of Broad Slough. We followed the wind towards Pittsburg; Brenda at the tiller doing a remarkable job steering to weather, we tried to be first to round the "green and red" buoy in Pittsburg. Our efforts- unsuccessful. Cloud Nine (Plummer) kept to the shallows on a starboard tack overshooting the mark but avoiding the out going current. We tacked earlier to close distance then tacked back to starboard  directly into the current. Plummer fell off on a broad reach, rounded the mark and left us 8 to 10 boat lengths behind.  Genius. But who's racing? We were just going to visit the local sea lions anyways.

Who's racing? ComeOn...Grant... you were! Looks like you had great fun. Good to finally see your wife in a photo, and Dr. Waffle, too.
